About Us

Longparish Playgroup started in 1988 in the Sports and Social Club behind the Village Hall. In November 2005 we moved into our permanent home - a purpose built annexe of Longparish School with its own fenced off outside area. We are a very rural setting looking out onto fields.

In 2017 we changed the name of the playgroup to Little School. We also changed our logo to one of a tree with owls. This is to reflect our ethos of 'Helping Your Child Grow Through Play.'

We believe that children learn best when they can engage and explore play that interests and excites them. We operate a free flow system, where the children can choose the areas in which they like to play both inside and outside. Both our inside and outside areas have opportunities for messy play, role play, mark making, sharing books, music, building and small world play.

We are run by a management committee made up of mainly parents of children that attend Little School. Although we are physically attached to Longparish Primary School, we are a separate charity. Attending the Little School does not mean you will automatically get a place in the school. Being on the school site does, however, mean we foster good relationships with the school, and can therefore share resources and experiences.
