Claire
Claire

Hello I'm Claire and I am the Manager. I have worked in childcare since leaving college, and joined Longparish Little School in 2001. I have seen the playgroup develop from a small Portakabin to the beautiful building we have today. I have NVQ level 4 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and level 3 award in Management. I am the setting’s Child Protection Officer.

I think the ideal pre-school environment for children is somewhere children feel comfortable to play, have fun and explore. That way they learn with staff supporting them when needed to extend their knowledge.

Sharron

Hello I'm Sharron. I started working at Little School in September 2010 and thoroughly enjoy it. I have NVQ level 3 in childcare and education.

I think: The ideal pre-school environment for children is somewhere children get a chance to experience lots of different age appropriate resources to meet their needs and interests. I believe a safe outdoor area is really important. But the priority is patient and caring staff.

Julie

Hello I'm Julie. I have worked with children for over 20 years. I have NVQ level 3 in childcare and education.

I think: The ideal pre-school environment for children should feel like extension of their home environment with friendly, caring, calm, loving and happy staff and stimulating activities.

Di

Hello I'm Di. I worked for Marks and Spencer for 25 years, before entering into pre-school employment. I have completed my NVQ level 3. I have taken "semi-retirement" so you will only find me at Little School when they need extra help.

I think: The ideal pre-school environment for children is somewhere children can learn good teamwork, social skills and how to share. I think the atmosphere should be happy and relaxed with lots of fun as well as structured activities for them to take part in.

Kirsty

Hello I'm Kirsty.  I knew when I left school that I wanted to work with children. I went to college to study for a NVQ 3 in childcare, then went on to work in a nursery before leaving to have my daughter. I am now back doing what I love, working with children.

I think: Preschool should be a fun, caring and safe environment for children to learn through play.
