Eco School

Its time to do our part, we must keep our world in our heart. Its time to take some action, to give our planet satisfaction.

Each Eco-School around the world follows the same international Seven Steps. Eco-Schools England have adapted the Seven Step criteria to make sure that early years settings can work towards and achieve our internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag.

Little School is signed up to Keep Britain Tidy’s Eco School programme for Early Years.  Eco School is a child-friendly approach that helps young children learn to care for the environment through everyday play and experiences. In an Eco School, children explore nature, learn where food and resources come from, and develop simple habits such as recycling, saving water, and caring for plants and animals. Activities are practical and age-appropriate, encouraging curiosity, kindness, and responsibility rather than formal lessons. By taking part in Eco School activities, children build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong respect for the world around them, while parents can feel reassured that sustainability is being taught in a positive, fun, and nurturing way.  Settings can earn an internationally recognised award, with the highest being the Green Flag.

At Longparish Little School we support children to learn about sustainability - to respect and care for both the living and non-living environment.  Together we will support the children to develop positive attitudes and values about sustainable practices.

To reinforce this ethos, Longparish Little School remains committed to maintaining our Eco School status.
